Allen Maxwell
Funeral services for Allen Douglas Maxwell, 85, of Algood, will be conducted Wednesday morning June 4th, at 11 a.m. in Algood Chapel of Hopper-Huddleston & Homer Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Cooper officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Algood City Cemetery. A Masonic Memorial service will be conducted Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at the Algood Chapel.
Mr. Maxwell died suddenly Monday morning June 2, 2003 at his home.
Mr. Maxwell was retired from Maine Central Railroad, and of the Presbyterian Faith.
Mr. Maxwell was a member of the Whitney Lodge #167 F & AM: the Scottish Rites; and the Valley of Portland Masonic Bodies.
Mr. Maxwell was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War 11 seeing military in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Raineland,and Central Europe. He was a member of Canton, Maine VFW.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marietta Smith Maxwell; and a brother, Lewis Maxwell.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in -law, Linnie and Eddie King of Cookeville; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Richard and Wanda Maxwell of Algood; and Michael and Patty Maxwell of Canton, Maine; grandchildren, Shawn and Michael Norweg, Stephanie Roberts, Sean King, Michelle and Anthony Maxwell; and two great grandchildren, Kayla Roberts, and Curtis Norweg.
Mr. Maxwell's family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until time of services at the Algood Chapel.
Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, Algood Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
