Tommie Jean Roberts
Funeral services for Mrs. Tommie Jean Roberts, 76, of Cookeville will be conducted on Friday, May 9,
2003 at 2:00 p.m. at McClellan Avenue Church of Christ with Bro. Erma Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in the Algood Cemetery.
Mrs. Roberts died on Wednesday morning, May 7, 2003 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Roberts was born January 10, 1927 in Jackson County, to the late
Tom and Hallie Carr McClennon.
She was a member of the McClellan Avenue Church of Christ and a former employee of Union Planters
Bank.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband - John Wesley Roberts,
1 duaghter - Brenda Hoke, 2 brothers - James and John Edward McClennon, 2 sisters -
Mary McClennon and Betty Howard.
Survivors are: 2 sons and a daughter-in-law - John Williams Roberts and Charles Troy and Rania Roberts of Cookeville,
7 daughters and 3 sons-in-law - Katherine Strode of McMinnville, Betty Bartleson of Cookeville, Diane
and Ralph Perry of St. Petersburgh, FL, Lisa Hall of Pensacola, FL, Debbie and Richard Locke of
Murfreesboro, TN, Judy Roberts of Cookeville, and Connie and Leonard Williams of Lizella, GA, 1
sister - Ernestine McClennon of California, 18 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 special
niece - Elizabeth Martin, and 1 nephew - Freddie McClennon.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Mrs. Roberts' family will receive friends on Friday from noon until the time of services at the
church.
Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
